Start with clear time slots
Offer a few fixed slots, such as morning, afternoon and evening. Customers know what to expect, and you can plan how many visits each rider can handle. When customers book online, they choose from the same slots.
Turn every request into a job
Whether a request arrives by phone, WhatsApp or your website, it should become a scheduled job with the customer, address, date and slot. Jobs that live only in a chat window are the ones that get forgotten.
Assign riders and plan routes
Assign each job to a rider and let them see their list on a phone. Group visits by area so riders are not criss-crossing the city. Owners can see at a glance which jobs are pending, in progress or completed.
Confirm every hand-over
A delivery without proof can turn into a dispute. Two simple methods work well:
- OTP confirmation — the customer shares a one-time code with the rider
- Photo proof — the rider takes a photo when the customer is unavailable
Handle failed visits properly
Sometimes nobody is home. Record the reason, reschedule with the customer and keep the history. This protects your riders and helps you spot addresses or customers that often need a call before a visit.
Collect payments on the doorstep
Let riders record cash or UPI payments at delivery, or send a payment link before the rider leaves. Payments recorded on the road appear in the same ledger as counter payments.
